How it runs

The interesting problems only surface after launch.

Our average partnership runs over three years, which is only possible if the work keeps earning its place. Every month ends with a review of what shipped and what it moved.

No lock-in and no minimum term beyond the first quarter.

FAQs

Questions worth asking.

How do retainers work?

Fixed monthly capacity with a named squad, a roadmap you help set and a standing session to review what shipped. Unused time does not roll forward indefinitely, because the point is a steady cadence rather than a bank of hours.

What is the minimum commitment?

One quarter. That is long enough to get through onboarding and actually ship something, and short enough that you are not trapped if it is not working.

What does a retainer cost?

Retainers typically start around £3k a month and scale with the size of the squad. We will size it against your roadmap rather than selling you capacity you cannot fill.

Can we use the time however we want?

Broadly yes, across development, design, CRO and strategy. We will push back if you are spending a growth retainer entirely on bug fixes, because that usually means something upstream needs sorting.

Do we need to have worked with you before?

No. Around half our retainer clients came to us with a store someone else built. We start with a paid audit so both sides know what we are inheriting.
